Mo_Books News - July 2014

  Hey everyone! Wow, it has been a long time since I've done one of these posts! I thought it's been way too long since I have filled you all in one what has been going on in my world.

Reading:

   I've been doing pretty well keeping up with my reading these past few weeks. It definitely helps that all my favourite TV shows are on hiatus for the summer. I've modified my summer tbr to only include the physical books that I own, which I covered in my Reading it Old School post. Along with those, I will be reading my most anticipated reads for the summer in ebook formats. I am loving getting back into reading some physical copies of books. I think I missed the feel of holding them and turning the pages ♥

 It has been a crazy few weeks around my neck of the woods. With the Hubby's hand being broken and him needing surgery it feels like I haven't been able to spend very much time reading or blogging. I only managed to read and review four books in March :S, hopefully I will get more reading done next month.

 I finally got a new laptop!! (yay's) It's a sweet little Acer notebook and I have to say that I'm feeling pretty happy with it right now, except that I really need to learn how to use windows 8 properly. So now that I have a laptop I can start making design changes to my blog. You may have noticed I already started. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with the daisy background though. I think the polka dots must have grown on me because now I miss them.

Wow this wrap up posts just keep getting longer! Guess that just shows how busy I've been on the blog lately. Old man Winter and Jack Frost must have teamed up this year and put a whoop'n on my neck of the woods. So what else is there to do but read and blog. Things will most likely slow down as the warm weather moves in. But for now I'm a blogging machine lol.

I've been doing quite well with my reading challenges so far this past month. There were many galleys waiting to be read on my NetGalley account and I have managed to tackle a few. Then I added on more :\, I couldn't help myself :-D . I did however finish a couple series for my 2014 series reading challenge. You can check on my progress here - http://moniquesmobooks.blogspot.ca/2014/02/2014-series-reading-challenge-progress.html Okay so I know it may seem like I've been procrastinating about redesigning my blog the last two months but I swear I just have some last finishing touches to decide on then it should be down. Since I'm planning on buying a new laptop in the next month or so (fingers crossed) it should make things easier. It's basically pointless to even attempt to move gadgets around my layout with a touch screen tablet...it's impossible! So I just can't seem to make things go where I want them to, Ugh!!

My 1st year blogoversary is coming up in a couple days. I can't believe that the year has flown by so quickly! I have learned so much and yet sometimes I feel like a complete noon lol. Of course I will be celebrating with some giveaways, that's right giveaways, as in more then one :-D I really hope you will stop by and check out my post on this special day and let me share with you some of the milestones I reached this past year.

  Hey everyone! First thing that I want to do is thank you guys, my wonderful readers. I have been getting a lot if love and comments lately and it has really put me in a fabulous mood. I love blogging and all of the kind comments I've been receiving has especially encouraged me to work harder. A special thank you goes out to Michelle from  Book Hangovers Blabs Books for being the first person to pick up my Quotable Thursdays meme. * Thanks Chicky :-D * My QT post has always been a monthly meme before but since Michelle has joined in I've decided to do it biweekly. I also added a Linky so anyone that would like to join in can share their links, which I will keep open for 2 weeks at a time.

  I started for great new reading challenges for this year. Is signing up for challenges something you do in the new year? There is my pledge on Goodreads to finish 65 novels & the pledge to read 65 novels on 50 Book Pledge. The NetGalley & Edwissis challenge to read all of those books waiting to be read on my reading list. To find out further details check out my 2014 Reading Challenges.

2014 Series Challenge.

  As I stated last month I would really like to revamp the look of Mo_Books and I have been hard at work trying to create something that is true to me. I want someone to look at it and think 'this blog is totally Monique'. Do you know how many backgrounds there are out there? To put it simply I will say a lot! I'm hoping to finish off all of the designing aspects for next month. I can't wait to unveil my new look.
