My Review


   Thrust into space by the FRX corporation Amy, her parents and 96 others are frozen in cyro chambers for a 300 year sleep as they barrel through space aboard the space ship Godspeed in hope of reaching their new home, Centuri-Earth.

  The first thing I have to say is wow, I am in love with this story. I have always been a fan of space exploration and the stars, that is probably why I was easily sucked in. I haven't had the pleasure of reading many stories like this only the Inside Out/ Outside In series by Maria V. Snyder and the only way  they are similar is the fact that the inhabitants all lived on a generation ship.

   After centuries in a frozen sleep Amy finally wakes up. Through the terrifying thawing process Elder is there with a soothing voice and calming words. Then Amy learns that she has been accidentally woken up 50 years ahead of schedule and someone was intentionally unplugging the cyro chambers and letting Amy's people drown in their own melted cryo liquid. Amy and Elder, the soon to become leader of the people living on Godspeed, discover other secrets about Godspeed. Things that leave Amy wondering if she will ever have the chance to see her parents again.

  Across the Universe left me wanting more. Futuristic and perfectly mysterious this book is a real page turner.
I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
