My Review

 Cinder's story continues with her in prison, in the midst of a clever break out. However, she's not alone. Cinder finds an unwanted and unasked for friend when she accidentally dropped in on Throne and to prevent the risk of him bringing  attention towards her escape, she brings him along.    

 Then we meet Scarlet Benoit, a french girl distraught over the disappearance of her grandmother and the authorities lack of assistance. When she meets Wolf, a beast of a street fighter with possible information leading to her grandmothers whereabouts, he agrees to help Scarlet track down her location. Together they head to Paris and what they discover along the way are surprising secrets that are connected to her grandmother. Cinder and Scarlet's stories meld together as they help each other escape the wrath of Queen Levana and hopefully save Emperor Kai from a fate worse that just marriage to the lunar queen.

 The second installment to in the Lunar Chronicles was a pleasure to read. Marissa Meyer introduced Scarlet perfectly into the book. The story is  told from both Cinder and Scarlet's point of view, which added more depth to the tale and answered some questions I had from the first novel. I found it exciting with just the right amount of mystery and action. I loved the new characters that we met, especially Throne. After he helped Cinder when she needed him I felt he would be a true and loyal friend and he proved me right. Scarlet and Wolf seem like they could make a remarkable pair further into the story. My only complaint would be that I have to wait a year to read Cress, the third book in the Lunar Chronicles.
  I give this a 4 out of 5 stars
